Our Cause
Our journey began with the recognition of a critical need—insufficient funding and resources to adequately care for the thousands of homeless, but highly adoptable, community cat population in Virginia’s Northern Neck region.
Our Wine & Whiskers lifesaving benefit plays a vital role in sustaining our mission, providing the financial resources to cover critical medical care, lifesaving spay/neuter surgeries and vaccines to treat and prevent life threatening disease for the cats in our care.
Garfield's Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the vision to "Eliminate suffering of community/homeless cats on the Northern Neck of Virginia," covering Lancaster, Northumberland, Westmoreland, and Richmond Counties. Without local or state funding, our work is sustained entirely by the generosity of our donors, the support of our community, and the tireless efforts of our volunteers.

The Wine & Whiskers Lifesaving Benefit is an essential cornerstone of our efforts to fulfill our mission to “eliminate the suffering of homeless/community cats on the Northern Neck of Virginia” by providing compassionate care.
This special event serves as a critical source of funding, enabling us to provide the necessary medical treatments, medications, and preventive care that these cats desperately need. From life-saving surgeries and vaccinations to routine health check-ups and chronic illness management, the resources raised through Wine & Whiskers make it possible for us to address the wide range of medical needs for the cats in our care. It’s more than just a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of community generosity and compassion that allows us to continue making a tangible difference in the lives of these vulnerable cats.
